Subscription & service
Do I need to buy a machine or fragrance oil?
No. DuraScent doesn’t sell diffusers or fragrance oils. The machine, oil, refills and maintenance are all part of the monthly service.
How much does it cost?
It depends on your space, because the number and type of machines and the amount of oil vary from room to room. After a free survey, we can give you a quote for your space. Contact us on WhatsApp to arrange it.
How long is the trial, and is it really free?
The trial lasts 3 days and is completely free, as is the site survey before it. You experience the scent in your own space, during your normal opening hours, before you decide.
What if the machine breaks down or has a problem?
Tell us on WhatsApp and we’ll sort it out, and emergency service is free. Damage is covered unless it’s caused by misuse or negligence, and any replacement unit is the same or a higher specification.
Can I change the scent?
Yes, you can choose a different scent from our Scent Library of 40+ fragrances. Tell our team which one you’d like to try, and we’ll explain how a scent change works.
Where are you based, and can you serve my location?
We’re based in Jakarta and visit your site for the free survey. Send us your location on WhatsApp and we’ll confirm whether we can serve it and how we’ll arrange the survey.
How do we get started?
With a free site survey. We look at your space in person before recommending anything, then you try the scent free for 3 days.
What does the site survey look at?
It looks at your layout, ceiling height, air-conditioning and airflow, doors, opening hours and how busy each area gets. We also check power points and where units can be mounted safely. More about the survey.
How should we judge the scent during the trial?
Mostly by listening to your staff, since they’re in the space all day, so ask them privately how it feels. Watch how visitors react rather than asking them, and keep a one-line note each day. How to collect feedback.
How often does a technician visit?
Every month, for the Preventive Maintenance Visit: refill, cleaning, and a check of the schedule and intensity. Your staff don’t need to refill or operate anything.
Can we have our own scent?
Yes. Choose from our Scent Library of 40+ fragrances from European fragrance houses, or ask about Signature Scent, a separate optional service that creates a scent for your brand alone.
Can all our branches smell the same?
Yes. We use the same scent at every location and set the level for each one’s size and airflow, so every branch gives the same impression. Monthly Preventive Maintenance Visits keep them consistent.
Your space & the technology
Is room size alone enough to plan the setup?
No, size is only a starting point. During the survey we also look at ceiling height, air-conditioning and airflow, how often doors open and how busy the space gets, which is why a site visit gives the best recommendation.
Does the machine leave residue or damp marks?
No. Cold-air machines work without water or heating, so they don’t add humidity or leave residue. If you ever notice something unusual, let us know and we’ll check the settings.
Why is the scent strong near the machine, but seems to fade after a while?
The scent is strongest near the machine, and it seems to fade because your nose adapts after some time in the same room. Guests walking in still notice it, so ask one before assuming it has gone. The level is reviewed at each monthly Preventive Maintenance Visit.
Which areas should stay scent-free?
We recommend a light setting or no scent near dining areas and kitchens, perfume or cosmetics tester counters, and treatment rooms in clinics. Point these areas out during the survey so we can place the machines accordingly.
Can you scent through our central air-conditioning?
Yes, with HVAC scenting: a dry mist travels through your ducts, with no water, heat or residue. The AC fan needs to run during scenting hours, and we check the system and access during the survey.
What if a room has no central air-conditioning?
We use standalone cold-air units, placed according to the room’s size and airflow. They also let one room be scented differently from the rest of the building, or kept lighter.
Is the scent the same strength everywhere?
No. Entrances can be a little more noticeable, while places where people stay for hours, like offices, are kept very light. We set this during the survey and trial and review it at each monthly visit.
Comfort & responsible use
What if staff or guests find the scent too strong?
Tell us, and we’ll review the level at the next monthly Preventive Maintenance Visit. Our technician can lower the intensity, change the schedule, move the machine or discuss another scent with you, as part of the service.
Is it safe for the space and the people in it?
We keep scenting light and comfortable: our cold-air machines use no water or heat, and our team sets the intensity for each space. If you have special needs, such as a clinic or visitors who are sensitive to fragrance, tell us during the survey.
Will scent guarantee higher sales?
No. Research suggests scent can support visitors’ impressions and comfort (see research on scent), but results differ for every business. We don’t promise any particular increase in sales or ROI.
Can scent cover or remove a bad smell?
No. Scent isn’t an odour remover, and we don’t offer odour neutralising. Cleaning and ventilation come first; scent is added once the air is fresh. Why it matters.
